I know. As I said, I’m amazed that Bush has managed to find someone even worse than Gonzales.
Gonzales is a squish, but at least his resume is significantly better than Miers.

Don’t get too cheerful. Gonzales may be the next pick if another seat opens up; after all, the President knows him well and that seems to be the major criterion.

In my fantasy world, Bush made a deal with Justice Stevens: he will retire if Miers is confirmed. My fantasy world is awesome.

We could could make a pretty long list of people she’s not: James Carville, David Boies and Michael McMenamin come to mind. But here’s one bit of legitimate good news: she supports the RKBA.
