Listen, Lady, All’s I Know Is That The Title of the Page Is Called “Corrections”

Filed under: Dog Trainer — Patterico @ 6:19 am

For at least the fourth time that I can remember, the L.A. Times places an entire story about the California Department of Corrections in its online “Corrections” section.

Meanwhile, on the topic of things that actually belong there: no response yet on my e-mail about the “imminent threat” canard. (I copied this one to Michael Kinsley and Managing Editor Dean Baquet, so hopefully it won’t just get lost in the shuffle.)

  1. The Times could fix this problem by calling the page “Mistakes” or “Mea Culpa”. But of course that would carry with it some hint of blame.

  2. Maybe tomorrow they should run a correction noting that today’s “Corrections” erroneously featured a story on the Department of Corrections.

  3. Looks like they fixed it. Is someone there reading this blog?

  4. The Times should run a cutsey editorial about how California names it’s departments so confusingly and advocating a name change to Department of Prisons.

  5. Let’s get off the euphemism treadmill. Why not the Department of Punishment?

  6. They can’t correct it, it’s gospel to what’s left of their subscriber base.

  7. While we’re at it, there’s nothing more annoying than a Tax Department being called the State Board of Equalization. What ends up equal after their work is done?
