Patterico's Pontifications

I attend a better law school than the one that John Kerry did.

In the oh-so-status conscious legal world, this makes me, de facto, better than him.

Winning Through Intimidation

Filed under: International — BumperStickerist @ 8:26 pm

I spent the weekend in Washington, where I met with an old friend from the Foreign Service. He recently got back from a six-month stint in Al Anbar province, where Fallujah is.

He told me a story that brought home just how tough it is going to be to succeed in Iraq. The provincial governor he dealt with while there was an ex-cop who had spent two years in prison under Saddam and really hated the Baathists. My friend said the governor was doing a very good job. Even after my friend left, they kept in touch by email. Then the insurgents kidnapped the governor’s three sons.

Could he be this dumb?

Of course, all bets are off were Kerry stupid enough to do something like this

Of course, Kerry might have just been counting on getting a free pass from the media. Nothing yet on CNN, Fox, MSNBC or ABC. While it is Sunday, what’s the chance that NOBODY at any of these fine media outfits is surfing the web?

Why Bush Is Toast

Wow. Being just a small time blogger myself, I’m not used to the amount of feedback I get guest-posting here. Thanks to all who took the time to post a comment… even those who called me a girlie-man.

I realize that I didn’t offer much as to my thinking as to why Bush is going to lose the election. It wasn’t solely a reaction to the Newsweek survey; it’s a feeling I’ve had for a while now.

Anyway, for those who are interested in the reasoning behind the madness, please check out my rationale at thoughtsonline.

Thanks again to all of you.
