AP Lie Spreading Fast
Earlier I mentioned an AP howler about how a crowd of Bush supporters supposedly booed President Clinton upon hearing that he was to undergo bypass surgery — and that Bush did nothing to stop them.
PowerLine has more on how quickly the AP‘s lie has spread.
UPDATE: And Spoons has more about how the fringe left is responding — first to the initial news, and later to the corrected news. Hint: the booing and the cheering were both bad.
Incredible.

Incredible, but sadly not surprising. Another moment of shame for American journalism. I listened to the audio. The reaction of the crowd could not have been clearer. First ‘oh’s when Bush anounced Clinton was to undergo surgery, and then wild applause when Bush said “He is in our thoughts and prayers.” The Dems are going nuts claiming this shows that Bush leads the “Rethuglican Party”. So now we need to be dismissive of AP reports.

Apparently the actual byline was from Tom Hays. They then pulled his byline when they re-released the revised story.
