Posts That Caught My Attention Today

Filed under: Blogging Matters — Patterico @ 3:05 pm

I’m not much on doing roundups of links to various blogs. However, I may start doing them on occasion — especially when I am catching up on my blog reading, as I am today. I guarantee that all of these links interested me. They might interest you as well.

Armed Liberal has some free advice for John Kerry. Cori Dauber has more observations along the same lines.

The AP tries to convince you that a crowd of Republicans booed President Clinton when President Bush mentioned Clinton’s bypass surgery. Listen to the sound clip and judge for yourself.

Speaking of President Clinton, a growing number of conservative bloggers are extending their best wishes to him as he undergoes bypass surgery, including myself, Pejman, Xrlq, Baldilocks, Zombyboy, Dean Esmay, and Spoons. (UPDATE: And Winds of Change, Beldar, Michelle Malkin, and Instapundit.) (I would genuinely like to believe that those on the left would do the same if any current or former Republican President had a serious health issue — but then, we saw the way they acted when Ronald Reagan died, didn’t we?)

The American Thinker notes that John Kerry (unlike George W. Bush) has not released his medical records, and offers a plausible theory why this is so. Remind me: didn’t it kill Bill Simon’s campaign for the governorship of California when he refused to release his tax returns? Why does Kerry get a pass on his military and medical records??

Mahalanobis has a devastating takedown of Reuters, which he accomplishes simply by printing their article and underlining the parts that don’t add up. Nice job!

Zombyboy provides a link to a cool site with dozens of pictures of famous peoples’ death masks. It’s particularly interesting for lovers of classical music like myself, who can now see accurate likenesses of people who were never photographed, like Beethoven, Schubert, or Chopin.

This was an interesting op-ed in the L.A. Times by a Palestinian denouncing the Palestinian culture of terrorism.

Dear Bill, get well soon. P.S. The crowd Bush addressed didn’t boo you, they cheered for your recovery. We have the sound clip.

  3. One of the Armed Liberal commentators: “The media haven’t been nice to Kerry at all, especially the free ride to the Swift Boat fabricators.”

Good grief, are we on the same planet? Does even one liberal actually believe this?

  4. mea culpa.

That was actually at Winds of Change, where they were commenting on a posting by Armed Liberal. The commentator I quoted is our old friend Andrew L. Sorry for the wrong attribution.

  7. Bogus Boos
President Bush’s report of Former President Clinton’s ill health is booed, according to AP. Except that it wasn’t, and AP regrouped quickly. Captain Ed has the details. For the most part, I’ve seen conservative bloggers express condolences to P…
