A DEFENSE OF PSEUDONYMOUS BLOGGING

Recently, criticisms of anonymous blogging have resurfaced, from folks like Bill Hobbs, Jeff Jarvis, Glenn Reynolds, and Andrew Sullivan. Some of this has stemmed from a radio debate between Sullivan and Atrios on the topic.

I have been doing a lot of thinking about this. Obviously, I am far from the first person to think about or discuss the issue of anonymous or pseudonymous blogging. Many people have posted thoughtful dissertions on the issue. For example, the Curmudgeonly Clerk has an excellent post on the subject which mirrors many of my thoughts. But, as a pseudonymous blogger myself, I would like to give my two cents’ worth on the topic.
