POST GETS CAUGHT TRYING TO BURY EMBARRASSING MATERIAL

Filed under: Media Bias — Patterico @ 1:35 pm

The RantingProfs have this nice catch about the Washington Post‘s omission of some material from a Charles Krauthammer column that would have been embarrassing to the Post. The actual column opened with a sarcastic reference to a quote from a Post news story, which Krauthammer then mocked. Fortunately for readers, the material showed up in other newspapers, so we can see exactly what the Post tried to bury — and why.

Remember this the next time the folks at the Post get self-righteous about politicians trying to cover up something embarrassing.

EXTRA! EXTRA! COMMON SENSE SPOTTED IN LOS ANGELES DOG TRAINER

Filed under: Dog Trainer — Patterico @ 8:48 am

Captain’s Quarters reports a rare sighting: a sensible editorial published in our very own local Dog Trainer. The editorial notes that the fact that we didn’t just have a terror attack on a flight from Paris to L.A. doesn’t mean that one wasn’t planned. It is nice to see that the local yokels at the Times are, once in a blue moon, capable of penning an editorial incorporating the heretofore unfamiliar concept of “common sense.”

The Captain does note, however, that the entire enterprise may have been a successful Al Qaeda counterintelligence operation. If true, this is nothing to applaud.

By the way, is there still anybody who believes that there was nothing to this? Doesn’t the whole incident reek of French incompetence, combined with the French government’s minimizing the whole event to cover up said incompetence?
